Maggie Mae’s Shrimp Boil
Florida has all kinds of shrimp, but our favorite is Key West Pinks. If you can find them, here is how to make some great peel & eat shrip.
- 2 cups salt
- 1/2 cup basil
- 1/2 cup parsely
- 2 cups red pepper flakes
- 2 cups old bay Seafood seasoning
- Bring two gallons of water to a boil. Add the spices above. Bring back to boil and add 10 pounds of fresh unpeeled shrimp.
- Boil for no more than 3 minutes. Drain and quicjkly cover with ice to stop cooking. Serve with coctail sauce or drawn butter.
Ten pounds of shrimp should feed 20 people. You can scale this recipe easily.
