We read a review of Bobby’s Bar & Restaurant that said, “Now, this IS old school!”. I second that assessment.
You walk into a huge bar, rectangular in shape that seats probably two dozen people except at happy hour when the locals come strolling in. They barely get in the door before someone is waving them in to eventually a standing room only crowd. Two middle-aged gentlemen were tending bar very efficiently, with the right amount of dry humor. You could guess they had been doing this their whole lives.
While it was clear the attraction at the bar was the meeting and greeting with friends, co-workers and neighbors, some guests wandered off into the two or three small dining rooms outside the bar area. The food is darn good for a local’s happy hour bar. Try the Delmonico Steak Sandwich and the Artichoke-Spinach Dip was our exceptional choices. This is our best for a beach happy hour old-school bar & restaurant.

If you go – Bobby’s is located at 3450 Ocean Dr, Vero Beach, FL 32963 in a hotel called Reef Ocean Resort. Ocean Avenue is right along the Atlantic Ocean, but Bobby’s does not have a waterview. Try Mulligans or the Ocean Grill for a spectacular ocean and beach panorama just a few doors down from Bobby’s.
Vero Beach is an Atlantic beachside community with a rich history of shipwrecks from the 18th century. Today, the town has quaint shops and a hint of old Florida.
