Just a few steps east of the end of Harborwalk in Destin is a seafood house that attracts locals for miles around. The reason is Boshamps Seafood and Oyster Bar. Perhaps, the slightly upscale atmosphere is refreshing as compared to the laid back, more traditional seafood restaurants along the boardwalk. Boshamps has their own seafood company and boat that provides exceptionally fresh and diverse range of Gulf marine life.
The large bar is surrounded by linen covered tables overlooking the harbor and constant boat traffic. – a perfect setting for seafood prepared perfectly and presented beautifully. Try the Puttin on the Grits for an appetizer; cheese grit cakes with shrimp and lump crab on top. Entrées include the best the Gulf has to offer including Cornmeal Dusted Gulf Grouper and the obligatory Chargrilled Angus Filet, both exceptional. You can tell we are in the south with sides like greens & bacon, yellow squash casserole, southern style mac & cheese and smashed new potatoes.
Boshamps is s step above the normal beach side bar & restaurant and may be one of the best in Florida for high end seafood. The bar has a wide selection of custom cocktails, wine and beer.
If you go – You will find Boshamps at 414 Harbor Boulevard,Destin, Florida 32541 or just walk to the east end of the Destin Harborwalk and you can see the restaurant a few steps away. Along the boardwalk you will find a cluster of good bars and restaurants with a Magaritaville Restaurnt anchoring one end and several local establishments every few steps along the way like the Jackacudas Seafood & Sushi, Harry T’s and Dewey Destin’s.
Destin’s Harborwalk Village is about an hour east day trip from Pensacola, Florida. For a day trip from Panama City, Florida the trip would be an hour west along RT. 98 and about two and a half hours from Tallahassee.
