Maggie Mae's Key Lime Pie

This recipe is pure and simple. Real key lime flavor but without the sharpness. Very easy to make.

  • 5 ea egg yokes
  • 1/2 cup Key lime juice Nellie & Joe's preferred
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 14 oz can of sweetened condensed milk
  • 2 tbsp sour cream
  • 1 ea. prepared grahm cracker crust


  • Separate egg yokes in a medium size bowl.
  • Whisk or beat the egg yokes until pale yellow.
  • Add the vanilla, sour cream and sweetened condensed milk. Whisk briskly until combined.
  • Slowly stir in Key Lime juice until incorporated.
  • Pour into the pie shell and bake for 12 minutes in a 350 degree oven.
  • Chill for at least 2 hours until set.


This recipe uses 2 tablespoons of sour cream to take the sharp edge off the lime juice. The result is very mellow smooth pie. Recipe courtesy of Maggie Mae’s Waterfront, Clearwater Beach, Florida
