The Way to get to Key West!

Key West Express
Key West Express is one of our favorite ways to get to Key West.

Florida Travel Blog is about documenting great things to do, see and eat in the state of Florida. Sometimes the way to travel is as interesting as the destination.

That is certainly the case with the Key West Express. This ship can get you to Key West in about 3 1/2 hours from Ft. Myers or Marco Island, Florida. You travel in style with seats in the open air, inside an air-conditioned cabin or sitting at one of two bars on board.

The Key West Express leaves almost daily from their docks at Ft. Myers Beach each morning around 8 am and arrives in Key West in time to have someSloppy Joe's Key West

Key West pink shrimp at Sloppy Joe’s for lunch. They do serve refreshments, snacks and sandwiches, but we would suggest you bring one of your favorite sandwiches along. In Key West the ship docks at Key West Bight Marina which is about four blocks from Duval Street. Of course you can stop on the way at the Conch Republic Seafood Company for a grouper sandwich on the way to your hotel.

When it is sadly time to go home, the Key West Express leaves the island about 5 PM each evening. You get to see a beautiful Florida sunset on the way back to Ft. Myers Beach. You can get to the docks in time to have a late dinner at Matanza’s on the island.
