We love Crystal River for many reasons. This laid-back community is unlike anything else on Florida’s Nature Coast.

 

While manatees are the key draw, the fishing is excellent also. During Florida Scallop Season the town fills up with families try to harvest these tasty mollusks.

We stay at the low-key Plantation Inn and Resort with a golf course just across the street and the aforementioned Adventure Center on the premises. The best part is that the Plantation Inn is extremely budget-friendly.
