Maggie’s Very Berry Cobbler

Maggie's Very Berry Cobbler

Recipe for a berry cobbler that can be used for any kind of berry or combination of berries.

  • 1 stick butter divided in half
  • 4 cups berries of your choice blueberries, raspberries, strawberries, etc.
  • 1 1/2 cups self-rising flour
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar divided
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 tsp baking soda


  • Heat oven to 350 degrees.
  • In a medium size skillet place 1/2 stick of butter, 1/2 cup of sugar and the 4 cups of butter over medium heat.
  • Saute the berries for 4 or 5ive minutes until butter and sugar melted as berries start to break down.
  • Pour the warm berry mixture from the skillet intp a 9 X 13 baking dish.
  • In a medium size mixing bowl, place the flour, remaining cup of sugar, baking soda, vanilla and milk. Mix until about the thickness of of pancake batter.
  • Pour the batter over the berries randomly. Bake for 20-30 minutes until top is golden brown.
  • Let cool for 10 minutes - serve with ice cream for best effect.


Our very berry cobbler is very easy and accommodating to all types of berries. We used raspberries, blueberries and black raspberries. Perfect for berries that are aging in the refrigerator. If you use strawberries, cut them in quarters,
