Wild, Wonderful Florida Festivals

 

It’s doubtful any other state has more festivals, events, fairs and shows than Florida. We have festivals for swamp cabbage, crabs, catfish, crawfish and Shakespeare. Our events are as diverse as the population. The locations range from towns of a few hundred people to one of the biggest cities in the country. They stretch from the far reaches of the panhandle to the southernmost point in the Keys. That’s over 800 miles and 12 hours by land.

Here are a few of our upcoming favorite festivals.

This takes place on
Amelia Island in northeast Florida. Lot’s to see and do on the island.

Fort Lauderdale Air Show,  Fort LauderdaleApril 30-May 1, 2022

Key West Singers and Songwriters FestivalKey WestMay 4-8, 2022
This is one of the top events in
Key West. Songwriters from around the country show up. Some big name artists show up too!

Tupelo Honey Festival, Wewahitchka, May 21, 2022
We are pretty sure most people don’t know where Wewahitchka is. It’s very close to Sumatra and Lynn Haven. Seriously, close to Panama City Beach in the panhandle.

Arcadia Watermelon Festival, May 22, 2022
If you have never heard of
Arcadia, the town bills itself the “Antique Capital of Florida”. We believe it with dozens of antique shops lining the streets.

Florida Folk Festival, Memorial Day Weekend, White Springs, May 27-29, 2022
Also home to the Stephen Foster Folk Center in north Florida.

Key West draw more people than Hemingway Days. Great event and competition for a look-alike Ernest Hemingway.

Lake Placid Caladium Festival, Lake PlacidJuly 29-31, 2022.
Lake Placid also has an Annual Swamp Cabbage Festival.

We love Mt. Dora. Quaint downtown with unique shops.

Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, October 26-30, 2022, Fort Lauderdale
This is one of the largest boat shows in the world. Plenty of marine vendors.Backwaters Shrimp Boil

Micanopy Fall Festival, October 29-30, 2022, Micanopy, Florida
An old John Anderson song helped this town become famous. Antiques and native American history here.

McIntosh 1890s Festival, November 5, 2022, McIntosh, Florida
Step back in time at this town near Gainesville.

Great Gulfcoast Arts Festival, November 4,5,6, 2022, Pensacola

Florida Seafood Festival , November 5, 2022, Apalachicola, Florida
Another of our old Florida favorite cities. Known for oysters, but water problems have
decimated their heritage.

Yankeetown Arts and Crafts and Seafood Festival, November 20-21, 2022, Yankeetown
This is another Gulf coast town with a big fishing problem! Good fun.
